Dutch Design, a new player in the yacht-building industry, has introduced its first innovative project – the Sea Rover, a 42.5-meter luxury superyacht designed with wellness and active living in mind. Developed in collaboration with yacht owner Scott Blum and designer Bernd Weel, the Sea Rover is being hailed as the world’s first “wellness-first” yacht. Only 10 units of this exclusive vessel will be produced.
The Sea Rover’s design is centered around enhancing physical and mental well-being while offering a luxurious, active lifestyle at sea. Built from steel and aluminum, the yacht’s sleek, minimalist design features expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, providing panoramic ocean views and an abundance of natural light. The interiors incorporate natural materials like wood, stone, and earth-toned textiles, creating a peaceful, balanced atmosphere conducive to relaxation.
A key feature of the Sea Rover is its focus on wellness. Unlike traditional yachts, where fitness and relaxation spaces are often tucked away, the Sea Rover includes a bridge-deck spa, gym, and sports court, all strategically placed to offer sweeping views of the sea. These spaces are designed to encourage an active and health-conscious lifestyle while on board.
The yacht is equipped with an impressive range of wellness features, including a fully-equipped gym with top-tier equipment, a dual-temperature plunge pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, and an infrared therapy wall. The sports court is adaptable for various activities, including pickleball, paddle tennis, and basketball, and doubles as storage for water toys and tenders.
The Sea Rover offers luxurious accommodations for up to 10 guests in five spacious cabins, including an owner’s suite with panoramic views, a Japanese onsen-style tub, and a steam room. The yacht also features a beach club with a 270-degree ocean view, sunbeds, a wet bar, and easy access to the water, providing the perfect spot for relaxation and socializing.
Scott Blum, the visionary behind the Sea Rover, emphasized the yacht's unique integration of wellness with travel. "Sea Rover offers an unmatched experience for those who prioritize both adventure and well-being,” he said. “It’s a superyacht designed for those who want to wake up, jump in the water, work out, and enjoy their toys all in one place.”
With only 10 units to be built, the Sea Rover is a limited-edition superyacht available for semi-customization. Prospective owners will have the opportunity to select finishes and colors at Dutch Design’s Amsterdam headquarters. This exclusivity, combined with the yacht’s focus on sustainability and timeless design, positions the Sea Rover as a valuable and unique investment in the world of luxury yachts.
Dutch Design’s debut project is set to redefine what it means to live and travel aboard a superyacht, offering a seamless fusion of wellness, luxury, and active living on the open sea.
