Ferretti Yachts has unveiled its latest innovation, the Ferretti Yachts 940, marking a milestone in the brand’s evolution. The first unit of the 29-meter widebody yacht was officially launched on January 15, 2025, at the Cattolica shipyard in Italy. This launch underscores the importance of the domestic market for the Ferretti Group, as the yacht is set to remain in Italian waters.
Described as a "seagoing home," the Ferretti Yachts 940 blends sophistication, spaciousness, and luxury, creating an unparalleled yachting experience. With a length overall of 28.97 meters (95ft 1in) and a beam of 6.78 meters (22ft 3in), the yacht introduces a five-cabin layout that includes a master cabin on the main deck, making it the first widebody yacht in the Ferretti range to offer such versatility.
The yacht is a result of the collaboration between Ferretti’s Strategic Product Committee, chaired by Piero Ferrari, and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. Its exterior design is credited to Filippo Salvetti, while Ideaeitalia has crafted the stunning interiors. The first unit features the “Classic” mood, incorporating warm, earthy tones to create an inviting and elegant atmosphere.
The nearly 30-square-meter salon is designed for relaxation and entertainment, with an L-shaped sofa, a sliding TV, and a centrally placed dining table for eight. Floor-to-ceiling glazed surfaces flood the interiors with natural light and offer breathtaking views of the sea. A standout feature is the sliding glass door that provides direct access to the starboard walkway, enhancing the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The cockpit on the main deck is furnished with freestanding furniture and features a glass parapet, similar to the Ferretti Yachts 1000 model, ensuring seamless continuity with the stern platform. Forward, the outdoor area includes a sun pad, a C-shaped sofa, and a dining table, while wide walkways lead to the mooring area.
The flybridge is designed for al fresco dining and relaxation, offering ample space to enjoy the marine environment. The raised pilot house, with its single-paned windscreen, provides enhanced visibility and a sleek aesthetic.
The owner’s suite on the main deck takes full advantage of the widebody hull concept, featuring exquisite Silver Roots marble in the desktop, forward wall, and bathroom. On the lower deck, the guest area comprises three VIP cabins and one guest cabin with sliding beds, accommodating up to 10 guests in total luxury.
Powered by two 2000 hp MAN V12 engines, the Ferretti Yachts 940 is expected to reach a top speed of 25 knots and cruise comfortably at 21 knots, based on preliminary data before sea trials.
The yacht was first unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2024, where it garnered significant attention, with three units sold shortly after the event. The first hull was signed during a Private Preview event hosted by the Ferretti Group.
Stefano de Vivo, the Group’s former chief commercial officer, described the Ferretti Yachts 940 as “sleek, sporty, and spacious.” Clients can choose between two interior styles: the timeless "Classic" or a vibrant, summary approach.
The Ferretti Yachts 940 sets a new standard in luxury yacht design, offering a perfect blend of functionality, comfort, and elegance. With its innovative features and impeccable craftsmanship, it’s poised to redefine the yachting experience for owners and guests alike.
